David S. Kim received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California, finishing in three years. During what would have been his fourth year of undergraduate school, he spent 10 months doing humanitarian work in Namibia. He then returned to obtain his medical degree from Loma Linda University, School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University. He joined The Eye Care Center of Napa Valley in 2012 as a comprehensive ophthalmologist. He provides medical and surgical care for cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration, as well as many other conditions.
Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, especially when it involves food. He also enjoys traveling and has traveled to Bahamas, Namibia, Ethiopia, England, Ireland, Belgium, Italy, Thailand, Mexico, Spain, Japan, Australia, Bolivia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, France and Greece. Dr. Kim enjoys humanitarian work (having spent time in Namibia (2002), a summer in Ethiopia (2004), and some time in Bolivia (2012)) and plans to continue to take part in humanitarian work in developing countries using his skills as an ophthalmologist.
