Choosing to Change Your Vision

Beyond the standard IOL: Vision Correcting Lenses and Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) Lenses

Premium lenses, which provide an alternative to a standard IOL, are offered for an additional fee. These lenses provide patients with different options for vision correction. For example, a toric lens corrects astigmatism. Extended Depth of Focus (EDOF) lenses allow for distance, intermediate and near vision ability. These are lifestyle lenses designed to allow eyewear independence for a majority, if not all, of your activities.

Choosing the Correct Replacement

The latest addition to our surgeons’ portfolio of presbyopia-correcting lenses is Alcon’s VIVITY IOL. Vivity is the first of its kind, non-diffractive extended depth of focus IOL with ALCON’s proprietary non-diffractive X-WAVE technology, which stretches and shifts light without splitting it. Vivity delivers monofocal-quality distance (far) with excellent intermediate (at arm’s length) and functional near vision (up close).
